I think it's pretty clear that whatever else you think of this whole story, the prosecutor has been nothing but serious. It's pretty clear he's going to be driven by the facts, not the RNC talking points (and please, people, Wilson never said that Cheney sent him to Niger!)

I've been reading the Media Matters for America website. It's been keeping my blood pressure up with tales of misstatements by the press on the Rove-Plame case (curiously in line with RNC talking points). (Not really, my blood pressure's on the low side). But my one hope is that the prosecutor really cares about national security, and is not swayed by public opinion, which is in turn being swayed by these errant media reports.

I think Brent is correct, Rehnquist is just messing with us all now. Frankly, if I had known he had such a wicked and twisted sense of humor I would have liked him all along. It certainly explains some of his rulings...like Bush v. Gore for example.

If the Dems don't screw it up somehow (and that is a BIG if) I say Rove is going down. Or at least leaving the White House for a HUGE salary elsewhere.

I think Rove looks a little bit like a turtle quite frankly. But yeah, I think he's going to keep his position and influence unless something else surfaces that implicates him even further in this case. On another note, I think Rehnquist is just being funny now and he's not going to retire until everyone stops making predictions about when he'll retire.
